Throwing Angels – Handcrafted High Carbon Steel Throwing Axes
from £45.00

Handmade Throwing Angels – Light, Tough, and Ready for the Target

These handmade high-carbon steel throwing angels are designed to be light enough for young throwers such as scouts, but built tough enough to bring hours of fun for adults too. Made from 1080 carbon steel and heat-treated to approximately 53–56 HRC, they’re crafted to take repeated punishment without failure.

Each piece is hand-ground and finished with care to maintain balance and durability, making them ideal for target practice on wooden bosses.

Unlike many polished alternatives, these are left with a rustic, functional finish — showing the marks of the making process with pride. Built for performance, not show. While they may look raw, every area on the handle the user comes into contact with is rounded over and smoothed for comfort during handling and release.

The blades are 4mm thick, ground down to approximately 0.5mm-0.3mm edge — meaning they’ll stick well, take a beating, but won’t cut during handling, making them safer for both beginners and seasoned throwers.

Specifications:

  • Material: 1080 carbon steel

  • Hardness: ~53–56 HRC

  • Dimensions: Approximately 289 mm x 131 mm

  • Thickness: 4 mm

  • Edge: Ground to 0.5 mm — tough, safe, and effective for target throwing
